Adam graduated 2nd in his class with a degree in Business from Harvard and like Victor attended the school of hard knocks, was raised by Hope on a simple farm in Kansas, and instilled with values, He was a self made man and had already taken Wall street by storm before Hope made Victor promise to take him back to Genoa city on her deathbed.
Victor was abandoned by his Mother at an orphanage, grew up with nothing, and built NE from the ground up!
Victoria gets into disastrous situations, as do Adam and Victor. However, she continuously falls flat on her face with daddy always picking up the pieces. She's now being used by Nate and his side lizard Audra. Everyone can see it but her, yet even when she's shown a 'connect the dots' illustration (Ashland), instead of learning from her mistakes, she gets angry, is in denial, and will fall flat on her skinny ass, and again to be rescued by Victor! Victoria is rinse and repeat!
Adam, like Victor lands on his own two feet and can get away with murder. However, he learns from his mistakes and rarely repeats the same mistake twice. He's calm, cool, and collect, because he's much smarter and educated than Victoria. Like Victor, he's a survivor! He's patient and will wait until the time is just right. He could beat Victoria hands down, but with daddy always there to defend his little princess, he often takes the high road. His downfall is that he desperately wants Victors approval.
Victor does what ever it takes to to protect his family and has unlimited resources, using any means possible, fair or unfair to do so...he literally has committed murder! He can make things happen with a simple phone call in a very calm voice with no one around him having a clue what he's up to. When he declares someone an enemy, especially if they have harmed or are a threat to his family in any way, he will spare no expense, including his e'hem, lol, 'top notch security team' *giggles* Victor knows that he can control Nick, Victoria, and Abby, but also knows that Adam has a mind of his own and will just walk away and start his own company which could be a contender against NE and Victoria. This is why after taking Victoria's side, he'll always try and get Adam back into the Newman fold...Adam can hold his own and Victor knows it!
I can go on and on alien, but I think you get the jist. IMHO, Adam is more like Victor than Victoria. In fact, I predict that it will be Adam who will be at the helm of NE in the future, not Victoria. Adam will somehow, someday take her down, he's patient and calculated, he'll win!
Oh yes, I agree with you Isabella on that trait for sure, neither Victor or Victoria will ever admit that they are wrong, but that is just one trait. However, as I mentioned above, Victor and Adam IMVHO have many more traits that are alike than Victor and Victoria do, especially considering that Victor never raised Adam. Victoria was raised by victor so she and nick SHOULD be more like him. But like I stated, that is just My own very humble opinion.
Nikki was great in this episode, first reaching out to Adam in a kind, caring way, then letting Victoria know how much she disapproves of the business decisions she's making, especially how soon she assigned Nick's support people to other positions.
I agree Cord, Nickie was fabulous in this episode in every capacity. I also liked the way that she brought Victor up to speed on what is going on with both his children and Newman Enterprises.
I have a feeling that all though Nate and Audra are loving their new positions and power, they aren't going to be there for as long as they think they are because Victor is onto them!
I just can't wait for Adam to be the UV light like a mosquito zapper with Victoria, Nate, and Audra....ZAP...KaBoom!!!

Hey Cord and Isabella, as per usual, I had to catch up on a couple of episodes again and noticed that you had commented about Kyle only cheating on Summer once. So I answered back, but thought that the likelihood of you going back and seeing it was most likely nil. Therefore, I took the liberty of copy and pasting My response below. It may seem a bit muddled, but I'm only going by memory. :)
Yuppers Cord, Kyle cheated on Summer with Lola Rosales, and he took her virginity too! I think he took Summers virginity as well if memory serves correct. Anyways, he divorced Summer, then cheated on Lola with Summer. Divorced Lola, then remarried Summer. Kyle's friend Theo was also in the picture as well bedding Summer whilst Kyle went back to Lola and married her, then Theo bedded Lola when Kyle went back to Summer..and now he has cheated on Summer again with Audra, so when you think about it, he's done allot of cheating and infidelity!
Yes you're correct Isabella, Kyle also cheated on Summer with Tara Locke whilst on a business trip to New York which resulted in Harrison. He also met up with his old friend Theo in NY and they partied hard, resulting in a young girl named Zoe getting so wasted that they had to take her to the ER. (I can't remember if they just left Zoe at the ER, which is why she ended up coming to Genoa City and spiking all of the drinks at the Grand Opening of the Grand Phoenix and Theo later used their NY escapades against Kyle and started blackmailing him).
And of course, Tara was also having an affair on her husband Aston Locke who later came to Genoa City to see what his, e'hem, wife and son were doing there. It's around that time he had Summer dangling because he left her for Lola Rosales, but then agreed to marry Summer IF she donated a part of her liver to Lola, whom he was with at the time. But, he again cheated on Summer to bed Lola, then cheated on Lola with Summer, now he's cheated on her again with Audra...man, is Kyle ever a slut!!!

Harrison should stay with Summer, I would not wish for any kid to be raised by a guy like Kyle. Adam deserves to win that war against Victoria he has suffered enough and I would not want him to be involved with Sally ever again. Unlike many in here, I did expect Nikky to be compassionate regarding Adam's situation, unlike her prostitute of a daughter she can afford to have some humanity. I am positive Victoria has not been in touch with either Faith or Sharon since the Cameron situation unfolded, heck even Adam who suffered his own loss cared to show up. Also, something tells me that Sharon's inherited Tech company might be what guarantees Adam's triumph, either way it would be nice to see Adam and Sharon working together.
N- speaking for myself about Nikki its not think I didn't feel she would talk to Adam, but in the past all Nikki has done is not have anything to do with Adam. She felt no concern for Adam so why all of sudden. Harrison should stay in the same house hold that He has been living in. I don't think Summer legally adopted Harisson, so He couldn't live with her. As for Vicrotira yea I am pretty sure she didnt contact Sharon, Faith or even Adam for that matter. She could of put away her difference for a few minutes & sent Adam condelnces on His loss. But we are speaking of Victoria. For what Sharon may do I am not to sure on that yet.
N- and Isabella, the closest Victoria came was mentioning the ordeal that Faith went through, referring to her as "my sweet niece". This was in a conversation with Victor about making Nick take a leave of absence.
Hey niklaus, yes, Harrison should 'morally' stay with Summer, but Kyle has always put his son first just as Summer has. Even though Kyle is turning into a disgusting pig slut again, I agree with Isabella, he can't live with Summer because he's only her step son. Harrison needs to be around familiar surroundings like his room, nanny, the Abbott mansion, etc. Summer didn't adopt him, therefore has no legal right to him, as Tara is his biological mother and would need to give consent and give up her parental rights even if Kyle had wanted Summer to adopt him.
Adam does deserve to win that war against Victoria, but not because he has suffered enough. But instead because he is smarter and educated, with just as much, if not more business sense as Victoria. He built Newman Media from the ground up out of Ashland's broken business and turned it into one of Newman Enterprises most profitable divisions. I have no doubt he will win, unless daddy dearest comes to Victoria's rescue again. Adam can beat Victoria blindfolded, but not both her and Victor!
Although Nicky has never shown Adam to be an equal to Victoria, Nick, or even Abby, I'm not surprised by her compassionate words and concern for Adam. She and Jack lost a child, so she knows what he is going through.
I agree with you and Isabella that Victoria has not been in touch with Faith, Sharon, or Adam since the Cameron situation unfolded and Sally miscarried, or at least I don't recall her too. The least Victoria could have done is reached out to Adam to give her condolences as well as show some support to Sharon and her 'sweet niece' putting away her difference for a few minutes. But then again, Victoria hasn't even bothered with her own children. The other night when she was up in Nates room in the sack, she didn't want to be there any longer, didn't want to go home to her kids, and decided to go for drinks instead.
Adam has a dark side which I think we are going to be seeing more of again, but even with his own loss, he cares about the ones he loves. He was raised with Hope and Cliff's morals which is why he kept checking on Sally, then Sharon, and Faith.
Sharon's inherited Tech company will tie in somehow, but she told Nick that she wants to do something good/positive with it, so not to sure how this is going to play out yet.
Yuppers alien, I can see Summer and Chance going there. I'm just wondering if Summer is going to sleep with Chance because she is hurt and lonely or if it will be revenge sex?
I think so too Cord, and I think that invoice for the diamond earrings and flowers are going to somehow be playing a big part of how Summer finds out about Kyle's infidelity.

ReplyDeleteI just read that the soaps will be re-airing "classic" episodes on the 4th of July. According to Soap Central, y&r's episode will be from more than 30 years ago, when John Abbott hosted family and friends for a special July 4th celebration. The episode originally aired July 3, 1992.

DeleteHey Cord and Isabella, as per usual, I had to catch up on a couple of episodes again and noticed that you had commented about Kyle only cheating on Summer once. So I answered back, but thought that the likelihood of you going back and seeing it was most likely nil. Therefore, I took the liberty of copy and pasting My response below. It may seem a bit muddled, but I'm only going by memory. :)
ReplyDeleteYuppers Cord, Kyle cheated on Summer with Lola Rosales, and he took her virginity too! I think he took Summers virginity as well if memory serves correct. Anyways, he divorced Summer, then cheated on Lola with Summer. Divorced Lola, then remarried Summer. Kyle's friend Theo was also in the picture as well bedding Summer whilst Kyle went back to Lola and married her, then Theo bedded Lola when Kyle went back to Summer..and now he has cheated on Summer again with Audra, so when you think about it, he's done allot of cheating and infidelity!
Yes you're correct Isabella, Kyle also cheated on Summer with Tara Locke whilst on a business trip to New York which resulted in Harrison. He also met up with his old friend Theo in NY and they partied hard, resulting in a young girl named Zoe getting so wasted that they had to take her to the ER. (I can't remember if they just left Zoe at the ER, which is why she ended up coming to Genoa City and spiking all of the drinks at the Grand Opening of the Grand Phoenix and Theo later used their NY escapades against Kyle and started blackmailing him).
And of course, Tara was also having an affair on her husband Aston Locke who later came to Genoa City to see what his, e'hem, wife and son were doing there. It's around that time he had Summer dangling because he left her for Lola Rosales, but then agreed to marry Summer IF she donated a part of her liver to Lola, whom he was with at the time. But, he again cheated on Summer to bed Lola, then cheated on Lola with Summer, now he's cheated on her again with Audra...man, is Kyle ever a slut!!!
Get you facts right. Kyle and Summer were not a couple when he was in NY.

Katie - wow, thanks for taking the time to follow up from the other day's comments regarding Kyle's infidelities and re-posting it. I sometimes go back to a preceding episode's comments just to read anything that's new.

Harrison should stay with Summer, I would not wish for any kid to be raised by a guy like Kyle.
ReplyDeleteAdam deserves to win that war against Victoria he has suffered enough and I would not want him to be involved with Sally ever again. Unlike many in here, I did expect Nikky to be compassionate regarding Adam's situation, unlike her prostitute of a daughter she can afford to have some humanity. I am positive Victoria has not been in touch with either Faith or Sharon since the Cameron situation unfolded, heck even Adam who suffered his own loss cared to show up. Also, something tells me that Sharon's inherited Tech company might be what guarantees Adam's triumph, either way it would be nice to see Adam and Sharon working together.
N- speaking for myself about Nikki its not think I didn't feel she would talk to Adam, but in the past all Nikki has done is not have anything to do with Adam. She felt no concern for Adam so why all of sudden. Harrison should stay in the same house hold that He has been living in. I don't think Summer legally adopted Harisson, so He couldn't live with her. As for Vicrotira yea I am pretty sure she didnt contact Sharon, Faith or even Adam for that matter. She could of put away her difference for a few minutes & sent Adam condelnces on His loss. But we are speaking of Victoria. For what Sharon may do I am not to sure on that yet.

DeleteN- and Isabella, the closest Victoria came was mentioning the ordeal that Faith went through, referring to her as "my sweet niece". This was in a conversation with Victor about making Nick take a leave of absence.
DeleteHey niklaus, yes, Harrison should 'morally' stay with Summer, but Kyle has always put his son first just as Summer has. Even though Kyle is turning into a disgusting pig slut again, I agree with Isabella, he can't live with Summer because he's only her step son. Harrison needs to be around familiar surroundings like his room, nanny, the Abbott mansion, etc. Summer didn't adopt him, therefore has no legal right to him, as Tara is his biological mother and would need to give consent and give up her parental rights even if Kyle had wanted Summer to adopt him.

He built Newman Media from the ground up out of Ashland's broken business and turned it into one of Newman Enterprises most profitable divisions. I have no doubt he will win, unless daddy dearest comes to Victoria's rescue again. Adam can beat Victoria blindfolded, but not both her and Victor!
Although Nicky has never shown Adam to be an equal to Victoria, Nick, or even Abby, I'm not surprised by her compassionate words and concern for Adam. She and Jack lost a child, so she knows what he is going through.
I agree with you and Isabella that Victoria has not been in touch with Faith, Sharon, or Adam since the Cameron situation unfolded and Sally miscarried, or at least I don't recall her too. The least Victoria could have done is reached out to Adam to give her condolences as well as show some support to Sharon and her 'sweet niece' putting away her difference for a few minutes. But then again, Victoria hasn't even bothered with her own children. The other night when she was up in Nates room in the sack, she didn't want to be there any longer, didn't want to go home to her kids, and decided to go for drinks instead.
Adam has a dark side which I think we are going to be seeing more of again, but even with his own loss, he cares about the ones he loves. He was raised with Hope and Cliff's morals which is why he kept checking on Sally, then Sharon, and Faith.
Sharon's inherited Tech company will tie in somehow, but she told Nick that she wants to do something good/positive with it, so not to sure how this is going to play out yet.
Cord - Katie yes I know what Victoria said but I was not going to quote it didn't think it was needed.
